Taking place at the Housing Action Hub at Excel London from 12:30-1:15pm on Tuesday 12th May, the discussion will take a through-the-wall look at masonry façades, from brickwork and masonry support systems through to fire barriers and critical interfaces.
With high-rise residential construction facing intense scrutiny in the wake of landmark building safety legislation, the session will examine how closer collaboration between contractors, engineers, and façade manufacturers can deliver fully integrated façade solutions that meet today's stringent compliance demands.
Hosted by Elan Penn, Training Manager, Siderise, the panellists included:
· Jonathan Vaughan, Technical Manager – Masonry, Leviat
· Ian Sutherland RIBA RIAS, Design Advisor, Ibstock Futures
· Emmie Panagopoulos, Technical Specification Manager, Siderise
· Peter Gibson, Director & Passive House Designer, Hunters Architectural and Building Consultancy
Attendees can expect an in-depth, technically focused discussion that addresses building safety, regulatory compliance, and the practical lessons that reduce risk and improve quality on site. The panel brings together expertise across the full design-to-delivery chain, including structural engineering, architectural specification, fire safety, and principal design.
Commenting on the discussion, Jonathan Vaughan, Technical Manager – Masonry, Leviat said: “The complexity of high-rise masonry façades demands a joined-up, collaborative approach across the supply chain. This session assembles the right voices to lead that conversation and with the technical depth the industry needs.”
