New Sustainability Report
22 April 2025

Leviat, world-leading engineered connections specialist, today announced the release of its inaugural sustainability report for its UK operations, Building a Sustainable Future - Our Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Roadmap to Net Zero.

This comprehensive document outlines Leviat’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact in the UK through detailed case studies and initiatives, while mapping out specific plans to achieve ambitious sustainability goals in the coming years.

As part of CRH in the UK, Leviat shares a long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability and decarbonisation. This new report emphasises Leviat's recognition of its responsibility in safeguarding the construction industry, society, and the planet. This commitment is deeply rooted in Leviat's core values, which prioritise people, character, performance, and innovation.

Key highlights of the report include:

  • An absolute 30% reduction in emissions from a 2021 base year by 2030
  • A 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030
  • Implementation of renewable energy solutions at Leviat facilities
  • Development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to measure and reduce embodied carbon in products
  • Focus on operational efficiencies and optimised material use
  • Collaboration with suppliers to decarbonise the supply chain

Jessica Marsh, Leviat's Sustainability and Environmental Engineer, emphasised the company's proactive approach: "This report demonstrates that Leviat isn't standing still. We're setting challenging targets that go beyond industry standards and outlining concrete steps to achieve them."

Jessica highlighted the report's emphasis on transparency and stakeholder engagement. "This is the first in a series of biennial reports where we'll showcase our progress, including both successes and challenges. It's about integrity and being open and transparent with our customers, suppliers, and employees as we work together towards sustainability."

The report addresses the growing demand from customers for company-specific sustainability information. It provides a framework for ongoing case studies and project updates, allowing stakeholders to track Leviat's progress in real-time.

"Our 2030 targets are ambitious, but achievable," Jessica added. "We're particularly focused on Scope 3 emissions, working closely with our supply chain partners to drive decarbonisation throughout our operations." Leviat's UK sustainability strategy involves all levels of the organisation and its broader network of stakeholders. "This is a community project," Jessica explained.

"Every employee, customer, and supplier has a role to play in our journey to Net Zero."
