The new Park City, Utah, administrative campus for the High Valley Transit Authority (HTVA) will feature Thermomass System NC. This industry-leading advanced insulation technology from Leviat will be a key component in the construction of the facility’s 31,000-square-foot bus barn.

The $26 million project, led by general contractor, Big D Construction, also includes an 11,000-square-foot maintenance shop and an 18,000-square-foot administration building. The campus will replace temporary facilities that have been in use since the HTVA was launched in July 2021.

Thermomass System NC, known for its superior thermal performance and sustainability benefits, aligns seamlessly with the HTVA's ongoing vision of modern, sustainable infrastructure. The Thermomass-insulated bus barn will provide a durable, low-maintenance, energy-efficient building envelope designed to house up to 24 buses, along with a number of the organization’s ride-share vans.

In the 30 months since its launch, the High Valley Transit Authority has provided nearly 2 million rides to the residents of Summit County, Utah, with routes to and from local communities, as well as a daily trips to nearby Salt Lake City. The HVTA's services are also popular with the numerous tourists who visit the region's ski resorts.

The project officially broke ground in October 2022 and is expected to be operational by September 2024.

"We are excited to play a part in the High Valley Transit Authority continuing vision for convenient, efficient and sustainable public transportation," said Mike Nesladek, regional sales manager for Leviat.

"Tilt-up construction and Thermomass insulation technology are a perfect complement to the form and functionality of this crucial building. We are proud to play a small part in helping the High Valley Transit Authority create a sustainable future for public transportation."
