Our Range of Standard CPDs

Façade Support & Restraint

We offer five standard CPDs that relate to our masonry product offering. Our experienced technical team can deliver these seminars in a format that suits your specific needs. Please see our current offering detailed below.

Considered Façade Solutions for Complex Applications

In this seminar, one of our experienced Regional Technical Sales Managers here at Leviat, will delve deeper into wall ties, damp proof coursing, large cavities, pier arrangements, as well as slab zone components such as balcony connectors and fire barriers, discussing how they can potentially impact the design of masonry support systems.

Windposts for Construction: The Development of the Ancon Thermal Windpost (TWP2)

As structural members, Windposts inevitably create small voids in the insulation layer. Variations arising from inconsistency in cutting, or omission, of insulation in these small voids can often be overlooked when undertaking thermal calculations. We will examine the ‘performance gap’ between designed and realised thermal performance and how Thermal Windposts can help close this gap.

Support and Restraint of Masonry Cladding on Framed Buildings

This seminar will present an overview of:

  • Specifying wall ties and restraint fixings to EC6, PD6697, Approved Document E, EN845-1 and the Construction Products Regulation
  • Minimising cold bridging with low thermal conductivity wall ties
  • Tying masonry cladding to blockwork and steel framing systems
  • Providing lateral support at the top of masonry panels
  • Positioning of, and detailing at, movement joints
  • Supporting masonry above horizontal movement joints and at suspended brickwork features

The Correct Use of Wall Ties and Head Restraints

During this seminar, one of our Technical Sales Managers will discuss best practice in the selection and installation of common masonry fixings, focusing on cavity wall ties and head restraints.
