Leviat Extends its Halfen HIT Steel-to-Concrete Range

Leviat Extends its Halfen HIT Steel-to-Concrete Range
15 September 2025

Leviat has expanded its Halfen HIT Steel-to-Concrete range of structural thermal breaks, delivering greater design flexibility, enhanced performance, and wider application possibilities for engineers and contractors.

Engineered to minimise thermal bridging in the connections between steel balconies and canopies and the inner concrete structures, the HIT Steel-to-Concrete range ensures high load transfer while optimising energy efficiency.

Proven performance, extended choice

The extended portfolio now allows lightweight canopy structures to be efficiently connected using the smallest new M12 variant and has been further expanded with a new M20 version alongside the existing M16 and M22 options. In addition, selected models now support the transfer of uplift forces, while all models in the range are capable of transferring bidirectional horizontal loads parallel to the insulation joint—further enhancing the system’s versatility in complex structural configurations.

Range overview

The Halfen HIT Steel-to-Concrete range is available in three variants, each tested and approved for defined load transfer functions:

All types are capable of transferring horizontal shear forces parallel to the insulation joint. Each variant is offered with 80 mm insulation (HIT-HP) or 120 mm insulation (HIT-SP), enabling the appropriate level of thermal separation to be achieved.

Built on engineering expertise

This update reflects Leviat’s ongoing commitment to innovation and to meeting the evolving needs of the construction industry. By extending the HIT Steel-to-Concrete range, Leviat provides specifiers with approved solutions for creating safe, efficient and sustainable structures.
