Trusted Ancon solutions. Global expertise by Leviat.

Manufactured by Leviat, Ancon products are designed for precision and engineered for enduring performance.
Leviat supports structural engineers, architects, contractors, and precasters to provide these solutions at every stage of the construction process.

Masonry Support & Restraint Systems

Leviat manufactures Ancon restrant ties in a variety of lengths and types for restraining brickwork, blockwork and stonework.

Restraints can be fixed to a variety of substrates including concrete, structural steelwork, SFS, timber and all types of masonry.

Brick, block or stone cladding on steel or concrete framed structures is normally supported by stainless steel masonry support systems.

Frame type, differential movement, type of cladding, masonry load and cavity width all need to be considered when selecting the most appropriate fixing solution.

The standard range of Ancon Lintels is designed to suit the majority of loading conditions found in residential and commercial buildings.

Special lintels can be manufactured to suit architectural features, heavy duty applications and wall constructions not covered by the standard range.

Ancon Masonry Reinforcement, otherwise known as Bed Joint-Reinforcement, improves the structural performance of masonry walls by providing additional resistance to lateral loads e.g. wind. It also reduces the risk of cracking either at stress concentrations around openings or as a result of movement, in accordance with BS5628-3: 2005.

Ancon Windposts are designed to span vertically between floors to provide lateral support for panels of brickwork. Windposts can be installed into either the inner leaf of blockwork or into the cavity leaving the blockwork undisturbed. They are designed to suit specific applications and are supplied complete with end connections and ties.

There are various methods of fixing to concrete or steel frames.

Concrete Connection Systems

Leviat manufactures six Ancon products which provide continuity of reinforcement at slab-to-wall construction joints in concrete.

Leviat's range of Ancon connectors have undergone comprehensive thermal modelling, proving their ability to reduce heat loss and eliminate condensation risk.

They provide a thermal break by inserting a material with a low thermal conductivity between elements with a higher conductivity and most also provide local insulation at the joint.

Used within a slab to provide additional reinforcement around columns, Ancon Shearfix is the ideal solution to the design and construction problems associated with punching shear.

Leviat’s range of Ancon shear load connectors offers significant advantages over plain dowel bars. They are more effective at transferring load and accommodating movement and, due to their two-part construction, are more simple to install.

Ancon KSN Anchors, in combination with Bartec Plus parallel-threaded reinforcing bars, simplify concrete construction joints.  Together, they allow engineers to design slab-to-wall connections without the restrictions on bar length and bar diameter of re-bend continuity systems or the awkward anchorage lengths demanded by reinforcing bar couplers.

Lapped joints are not always an appropriate means of connecting rebar. The use of Ancon Reinforcing Bar Couplers can simplify the design and construction of reinforced concrete and reduce the amount of reinforcement required.

Ancon CB Coupler Boxes simplify the continuity of reinforcement at concrete construction joints. They allow engineers to design slab-to-wall connections without the traditional restrictions on bar length and bar diameter of re-bend/pull-out continuity systems and help contractors to eliminate manual bar straightening on site.

Steel & Architectural Fixings

Tie bars are increasingly being used in structures and buildings as an architectural as well as a structural element. Our Tension System range comprises two solutions which have been designed to meet the demanding aesthetic requirements of today’s applications.

Leviat is a manufacturer of Ancon specialist products and has a wealth of experience in working with a range of types and grades of stainless steel.

The Ancon ACC is a dowel-type fastener providing a shear resistant connection between timber and a concrete layer.

“There were a number of standard balconies across the project but there were also differing sizes and shapes of balconies. This involved designing and manufacturing these brackets for fixing to a curved concrete frame whilst carefully working around the clashes in the reinforcement of that frame.”
